You know what? “Gall, gallina o poll” is a children’s guessing game played in small towns and in the countryside when poppies are in bud in the surrounding meadows. Children pick a poppy bud and ask ‘gall, gallina o poll?’, ‘rooster, hen or chick?’ If the petals are red, it’s a rooster, pink, a hen and white a chick. Those who guessed correctly win the game!
