Beauty below the surface

There is an unearthly beauty in the flora found deep below the surface of the sea. For this series, we created a still life based on our vision of the bottom of the ocean; a place where the light is scarce and beautiful creatures lurk in the shadows, glinting against the blue. 

We positioned Miansai’s pieces among a variety of plants, with intricate forms and subtle textures, that seem to waft and drift with the movement of the ocean. Using Photoshop, we distorted the plants to look as if they are twisting and melting, adding a digital touch to an otherwise natural theme.
