For Laura Van Severen’s participation in a collective exhibition in Germany, we crafted a minimal yet thoughtfully designed booklet that doubles as part of her artwork. The booklet consists of two A4 sheets, folded at varying distances, creating a staggered layering effect. This approach allows fragments of text from subsequent pages to peek through, drawing the reader’s eye and inviting curiosity.
This design concept reflects Laura’s artistic exploration of landscapes and soundscapes. When the booklet is laid horizontally, the visible layers suggest mountain profiles or the undulating waves of a soundwave graph, echoing the themes present in her photography and artistic practice.
The result is an elegant, tactile object—both a companion to the exhibited works and a standalone piece visitors can take home. Devoid of imagery and focused on typography, the booklet embodies simplicity, precision, and harmony with Laura’s artistic vision.
