We have created a publication called Odyssey for Today I Saw Eden Studio —a lifestyle brand of curated high-quality crystals. This publication is much more than just a collection of images, it is a diary that explores Lisa Kracke’s physical and emotional journey from Germany to Mallorca, drawing a parallel line between the countries and the uniqueness of the minerals.
At its core, the publication is a dialogue between two images, where each element finds its rightful place. Photographs of the journey—curtains framing indistinct landscapes, roads stretching endlessly, glimpses of sun, land, and sea—are juxtaposed with striking images of minerals. This contrast forges unexpected connections, weaving links between the organic and material worlds in ways that feel both natural and profound.
The publication also features poems written during the journey, adding another layer to the reader’s experience. These poems are delicate yet intense, offering personal reflections on impermanence as a cornerstone of life and creativity, and exploring the intricate connections between branches, paths, and people.
Each mineral is meticulously documented with detailed technical sheets, providing insights into its properties, origin, and physical characteristics. These details enrich the visual narrative, offering an informative dimension that aligns with the book’s artistic and commercial aspirations.
Additionally, the publication includes contact sheets featuring all the images captured during the journey. These sheets provide a behind-the-scenes look at the creative process, showcasing the abundance of moments and perspectives that emerged along the way. They invite readers to revisit Lisa’s journey, uncovering subtle moments that might have been overlooked, and piecing together the broader story of how the work came to life.
Odyssey is a multifaceted creation that blends art, information, and literature, offering a fresh perspective on the world of minerals. It’s a celebration of travel, a homage to discovery, and a reminder of the small treasures that bind us to the world around us.
May Odyssey inspire you to see beauty in the journey, find connections in the unexpected, and cherish the small discoveries that make life extraordinary. 🌍✨
